HISTORY

The Whiskey Mac, or Whisky Mac, is Scotch cut with green ginger wine. It is traditionally credited to Colonel Hector MacDonald in British India in the late 19th century, though the story is not fully documented. The ginger wine adds sweetness and heat without hiding the whisky, and the drink is usually served at room temperature or warmed.
