HISTORY

The Sea Breeze began as a gin-and-grenadine drink promoted by cranberry growers in the 1930s. In the 1960s it was remade with vodka, cranberry and grapefruit juice, and that is the version that became a beach-bar standard. The grapefruit keeps the cranberry from tasting too sweet, while the vodka stays in the background.
